Ha ha, very funny.
I hate that this is my 3rd straight blog that deals with politics in some way, but I just have to say this. I’m sure that, by now, most everyone has seen or heard of this incident, where some Iraqi journalist threw his shoes @ President Bush. I wasn’t going to talk about this, but in the past couple of days I’ve seen too many posts online with people laughing @ this, and celebrating it. There’s even a Facebook group (& why aren’t YOU on Facebook yet?) started in support of the guy, calling him a hero.
Now, everyone who knows anything about me is aware that I proudly supported Barack Hussein Obama’s candidacy, and am counting down the days until he is finally sworn in. But, until that day comes, George W. Bush is still MY President. I may not have voted for him, and I don’t think he’s done a good job (in fact, I think he’s done a rotten job), but that’s irrelevant. I’m still an American. And there’s a principle involved here. And I don’t like to see anybody, especially some foreigner, disrespecting my President like that.
Who the heck does this little jerk think he is? People think he’s a hero? My ARSE! Aquaman’s a hero! THIS guy is a coward. If he’s so brave & tough, how come he never threw his shoes @ President SADDAM HUSSEIN?!? He never would’ve dared because, if he had, he’d be chained in some dungeon right now, being forced to watch as his wife & daughters got raped. There’s a time to put aside partisanship and say, you don’t do this to the U.S.A. And, like it or not, for now, President Bush represents all of us, as Americans. So this $h!t ain’t right. So I’m not laughing, and I’m not happy.
I’m also not too happy with the Secret Service. How did that guy get a chance to throw BOTH shoes? As soon as the first one flew, they should’ve swarmed around Bush. When I think of all of the threats that I know President Barack Hussein Obama is going to be facing, seeing this doesn’t make me comfortable. What if that guy had some anthrax or something in his shoes when he threw them? This could’ve been dangerous. @ the very least, the President could’ve lost an eye! Not cool, man.
Just my opinion

Okay, I admit, I laughed at this, when I first saw it. But, damn, dude, You make me think. Now I feel bad.

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.

Good blog. I agree 100%. You don’t throw things at the President of The United States, I don’t care who it is.

Well, you convinced me. I thought it was funny at first, but then I think about Obama, and how I wouldn’t want this to happen to him. So it’s not cool to wish it on the other guy.

The point I’ve been trying to make to people is to try to take George W. Bush out of this. Don’t think about WHO he is, but rather WHAT he is. And see this incident as an ATTEMPTED PHYSICAL ASSAULT ON THE PRESIDENT OF THE U.S. IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY. and then realize why we can’t let anyone think they can get away with doing that.

Look at you, all diplomatic & such.

This wouldn’t have happened to Pres. Obama. Because they know Obama would’ve ran up and bitch-slapped the fool.

“Because they know Obama would’ve ran up and bitch-slapped the fool.”
Don’t f**k with a brotha from the Southside of Chi-Town!

Barack would get some of his boys to do a drive-by on his ass.

I do wonder what kind of time he’ll get for this? I don’t know if the same laws in America would apply here.

I agree w/u JR! I didn’t think it was funny and am glad Bush has great reflexes. I like Bush a lot better now that he is leaving, and feel that shoe thrower should be jailed for 20 years.

Dang. 20 years? I suggested 5-10, and people thought that *I* was being too harsh!

No, this sort of disrespect for a World Leader should never be applauded or celebrated. People need to find a better way to happiness.
